Golf Fitness – Does Better Golf Fitness Equal Longer Drives for

My experience with golf tells me that, yes, better fitness will lead to longer drives and more games. It is a fact with not just golf but with all games, the more you practice, play and work out, the better will be your fitness and stamina to play.


Real everyday players and the professional golfers will tell you how important fitness is to increasing their years in the game. If you wish to drive farther and strike harder you need to have power, stamina, strength as well as overall fitness. When it comes to golf you need to strike hard and drive longer so as to reach to the target hole in fewer strokes.


I had problems in my stroke and drives when I was new to the game. Today after multiple years of experience in the game I will say, fitness is what has helped improve and lower my handicap.


Today I can drive longer, swing faster and strike the ball harder. Just a regular golf specific fitness program has given me consistency and ability to have longer drives to cover more distance in fewer strokes.


What does a golf specific fitness program offer you?


Fitness for any game is so essential to be a real player and last longer. And as far as golf is concerned, I think, you need to be fit enough to cover longer distances and maintain stamina until the end of the games. Better fitness definitely equals longer drives.


With a fitness program you are able to:


- Swing faster. Speed at impact determines distance. 
- Maintain control of the clubhead. Faster is not better without control. 
- You can turn out to be longest hitter, beating your buddies. I compete nicely with the 30 year olds in my group. 
- Maintain peak performance throughout the entire round. Endurance is vital to avoiding late round fatigue and the extra shots it causes. 
- Initially I suffered from lower back pains after a round but thanks to fitness training and exercises those pains and soreness are all gone. 
- Confidence you can execute the swing correctly every time. No need to fear embarrassment as you address your shot.


What I realized with a fitness training program is no matter what kind of exercises you do to remain fit, that doesn’t matter, what matters is you gain stamina and energy through the fitness program.


Then it’s your decision whether you wish to run or jog in the morning on the hills or work out in the gym to remain fit. The point is better fitness will definitely equal longer drives and let you play a better game.


You surely don’t want to miss out on the all the benefits fitness brings to your golf game. The beauty of confidently watching your drive sail long and straight or seeing your approach shot settle nicely right by the cup can only be experienced when you are physically able to create them. No piece of equipment can do that for you. Equipment may help but fitness eliminates so many of the causes of disappointment on the course.


For this you have to implement some kind of fitness training sessions. If you wish to swing it hard and observe the ball traveling the longest possible distance your core muscle group, legs, arms and shoulders must be well prepared for the swing.


Fitness, diet and certain exercises will let you feel satisfied with your drives. I can now driver farther with power and flexibility in my muscles. Fitness is the key to generating club head speed in controlled manner for longer drives!
