Are they worth the money?

Are they worth the time?

In my opinion I think it depends on your current skill level, how often you play golf, and what you want to accomplish.

My personal journey into golf lessons took me from playing anywhere from 100 to 120, depending on the course, to shooing between 92 and 98.

To me golf lessons were well worth the time, money, and effort.

But I don’t think I would have seen that type of improvement with out regular practice.  If you do take lessons you should probably devote a good amount of time practicing what you learned in order to improve.

Recently some amateur golfers challenged some tough golfers and here are the attributes they needed…

Some of the attributes valued in these courses:

• Length and accuracy – meaning a full, free swing is called for but difficult to produce

• Every shot – first, second or third – is demanding

• The green, even reached in regulation, poses three-putt potential

• Visual intimidation

• Challenging for men and women

What that means is if you want to compete in any sense of the word on any difficult course you’re going to need a tight game.  And if you want a tight game you will need to get lessons and practice.

If you’re a weekend hacker and only go out to drink beer… then you probably don’t need lessons.

But if you want to compete against friends, colleagues or enter tournaments then lessons will probably help you.

I believe that it doesn’t matter what level of golfer you are, everyone can benefit from golf lessons if you’re going to use them.

My suggestion is to make sure you find a PGA professional near your area. The reason is you want to make sure you’re getting lessons from someone who knows what they’re talking about.

If there was one thing I wish Tiger would do, it’s loosen up for goodness sake. He smiles a lot, seems like he has a good sense of humor but he walks and physically acts like Al Gore. He looks like a robot.

Anyway, If you check out the article below you can see Tiger with Jimmy Fallon on his talk show. They played some video game golf and had a good time. IT still looks akward for Tiger but I think he’ll come around. Here’s a brief excerpt from the article.
